MSI’s B760M Project Zero Gaming motherboard, which initially retailed for almost $210, is now available for $170 (19% off). The back-connect design enhances cable management and aesthetics, boasting a solid feature set for your 12th-14th generation processors; however, a chassis that works with back-connect motherboards (like MSI’s own) is required for the budget MicroATX board.
The TUF Gaming B760-Plus Wi-Fi is another good deal for the B760, offering a discount of almost 20%. For just over $160, you get a budget-class ATX board and a well-rounded solution offering TUF features (think military-grade components and rigorous testing) for Intel’s 12th-14th gen processors.
Moving to B860 and supporting 15th-gen Intel processors, ASRock’s B860 Steel Legend is now available at a great price, nearly 30% below the MSRP. For the money, you get a white ATX motherboard with plenty of connectivity, including PCIe 5.0 M.2 socket and Thunderbolt 4 on the back panel. The Steel Legend has always been a value-focused motherboard, and at under $140, it's a steal.
Stepping up a price bracket in the B860 range, we found the MSI B860 Gaming Plus WiFi is close to 20% off. You get Thunderbolt 4, Wi-Fi 7, and 5 GbE, as well as some of their EZ DIY features, the updated Click BIOS X, and one-click overclocking (memory only on this platform), all of which are attractive at this price.
Moving up to the overclocking Z790 platform, we encountered the Asus Z790 Gaming WiFi 7, which is 25% off the MSRP. The Z790 Gaming Wifi is an attractive budget option with a simple black and silver design, capable power delivery, comprehensive specifications, and AI features, making its current sub-$150 price a nice deal in the budget Z790 space.
Jumping into Z890, the enthusiasts’ chipset, we didn’t find huge deals, but this Z890 Aorus Elite Wi-Fi 7 we found at almost 20% off gives you everything expected out of the platform, including overclocking capability, Wi-Fi 7, Thunderbolt 4, a solid (albeit last-gen) audio solution, and MSI’s EZ DIY features (EZ-Latch Plus/Click).
This board is nearly 33% off and one of the best deals we've found (trumped only by the deal below). This white ATX motherboard is packed with features, including all the connectivity expected, such as Thunderbolt 4, Wi-Fi 7, robust power delivery, a DIY-friendly design, and numerous AI options to enhance various features, including overclocking and cooling.
Asus’ ROG Maximus Z890 Hero has seen a significant price drop since its release and is currently available on Amazon and Newegg for $399.99, which is 43% off the $699.99 MSRP. The Hero offers top-notch specifications and connectivity, a premium appearance, and several AI features for overclocking, cooling, and networking. There aren’t many boards in the market that are better at $399.99.
This white ATX board for AMD Zen 4/5 processors is 22% off the retail price and is a worthwhile option in the B650E space. You receive full support for Ryzen 7/8/9000 series processors, along with extensive connectivity, all for a sub-$140 price.
The B650E Aorus Elite X AX at $149.99 is a steal from its $250 MSRP (40% off). Gigabyte’s “EZ” features help make installing or removing M.2 and PCIe devices easier, and the updated UC BIOS is also helpful.
At 28% off, the Gigabyte B850 Gaming X Wifi6E is a solid foundation to build a budget AMD system. While the aesthetic isn’t the most attractive in the list, the comprehensive specifications, features, and especially the discount, bring this value-oriented motherboard towards the top of the list.
Asus’ TUF Gaming B850M-E Wifi is another solid option in the budget B850 space. At 23% off, Asus includes a range of features, such as capable power delivery and fast memory support, as well as numerous connectivity options, including Wi-Fi 6E and USB Type-C ports (although it lacks support for 20 Gbps or faster speeds). Its DIY-friendly Q-features make this an attractive MicroATX option under $170.
MSI’s X670E Gaming Plus Wifi is our only X670E board, as, surprisingly, the discounts available at the time we wrote this weren’t as good as those for other chipsets. At $189.99 or 23% off, it’s loaded with connectivity, including four M.2 sockets and ample, fast USB ports. You do miss out on 40 Gbps ports, but you won’t find many boards with it at this price.
Gigabyte’s X870 Aorus Elite Wifi7 Ice makes this list as it’s currently 25% off. The white ATX-size board features the latest hardware, including USB4 ports, Wi-Fi 7, and 2.5 GbE. Its icy white appearance and premium aesthetic are sure to look great inside a white chassis. But its sub-$240 price is hard to pass up.
Asus’ X870E-H Gaming Wifi7 makes the list as it has one of the biggest discounts this side of Intel. At around 33% off ($130), the full-featured, all-black motherboard gives you even more connectivity than the X870-based board above. This includes USB 4, 5 GbE, and Wi-Fi 7, dual PCIe 5.0 M.2 storage (four total), a high-end audio solution with integrated amp, and all the AI and Q-Features they offer.
