I'd say this gives even more reason for Jensen to get nervous about losing China as a customer for his GPUs. Reply

bit_user Given how far short they fell on their prior claims, this company lacks credibility. Also, the main reason they even need to promise such big improvements is because their current hardware is so bad. Lastly, whatever they build could be sabotaged by high GDDR prices. It could destroy any price advantage they might otherwise have vs. AMD/Nvidia/Intel, at which point the obvious thing to do is just get a GPU from one of the reliable manufacturers. Reply

You believe they're talking about improvements over current performance? Drivers get blamed for everything, but sometimes the underlying hardware is just too weak or broken for any amount of software to patch up. I think the S80 had both problems, as their launch drivers were in even worse shape than Intel's launch drivers for Alchemist. Reply

There are plenty of markets for Chinese goods, other than North America and Europe. Just look at the proliferation of Chinese mini-PCs, for instance!
