Going from nothing to 4060 peformance and then claiming even higher performance next year is impressive. Now if their drivers would work.. they have a harder upward battle than intel did. Reply

Mindstab Thrull If their numbers are exaggerated by a factor of 10 (oops, the decimal point slipped), a 50% uplift in performance and 5x increase in ray tracing performance in such a short period of time is remarkable. I'd say this gives even more reason for Jensen to get nervous about losing China as a customer for his GPUs. Reply

micheal_15 In other news, Chinese PCs in 2026 will cost $1, have 4096 yottabytes of RAM that runs 16277216 channel at infinite Ghz, has an NVME based on hyperspace so unlimited storage, an AI with god-level intelligence that can 3D print anything at all out of the air and makes all attractive people within 500 miles drop their underwear and instantly want to sex you to exhaustion. <–just as stupid as the other madeup crap where china claims to have a Utopia-Planitia size space station / FTL spacecraft etc. Reply

bit_user Given how far short they fell on their prior claims, this company lacks credibility. Also, the main reason they even need to promise such big improvements is because their current hardware is so bad. Lastly, whatever they build could be sabotaged by high GDDR prices. It could destroy any price advantage they might otherwise have vs. AMD/Nvidia/Intel, at which point the obvious thing to do is just get a GPU from one of the reliable manufacturers. Reply

You believe they're talking about improvements over current performance? If these numbers aren't completely imaginary, I'd bet they're relative to the appalling launch performance of the S80. tamalero said: Now if their drivers would work.. they have a harder upward battle than intel did. Drivers get blamed for everything, but sometimes the underlying hardware is just too weak or broken for any amount of software to patch up. I think the S80 had both problems, as their launch drivers were in even worse shape than Intel's launch drivers for Alchemist. Reply

Gururu I'm going to dismiss everything equating this to modern GPUs, but be happy if I am completely wrong. Reply

You're not embarrassing the Chinese, you're embarrassing yourself. Reply

vanadiel007 Regardless of how good they are, we will never see these retail anywhere outside of China. Reply

There are plenty of markets for Chinese goods, other than North America and Europe. Just look at the proliferation of Chinese mini-PCs, for instance! However, whether their product could be viable on the open market really depends on what happens with GDDR prices. Reply
