Gururu I have like two dozen games on my switch. You can remove old ones and redownload later if needed like Steam. Not sure there is quite the problem they are saying there is. Reply
gggplaya Hahaha, Nintendo is lying. They know it's because games cost $80 now. People don't want to spend that on a game. It's not because of storage. Reply
BloodLust2222 Sure, That's the reason. How about, No one wants to spend $70-$80 for a game that's been re-released 12 times and Nintendo thinks it's worth $90 dollars because it's on the Switch 2? You can buy the majority of the Switch 2 games for next to nothing on other systems. Maybe Nintendo needs to re-phrase, The Nintendo scam is over, And people are no longer willing to get suckered into paying huge amounts for 10 year old games. Reply
Notton Oh come on, even with really trashy ISPs, a 110GB download shouldn't be all that difficult or time consuming to do these days. Reply
cirdecus 100% using AI as a scapegoat. The reason we aren't buying switch 2 games is because there's no compelling console selling titles. Many who bought the switch 2, like myself, want their IP titles. The AAA titles are being played and have been played on our other devices like PCs and xbox and playstation. Releasing Cyberpunk on your console years after release isn't going to draw players to buy a switch 2. Zelda and Mario are, which were completely absent aside from a Mario Kart 8 clone, AKA Mario kart world. If there were compelling games on launch and in the first year forecast, people would find the extra cash for a simply memory card. Heck even an Ocarina of time remake would be a good seller. I love my switch 2, but it's been sitting since i purchased it and played maybe 10 hours of mario kart. The console needs compelling Nintendo IP games. Lastly, no one is going to be "switch edition" games at 70-80 bucks a pop. For those prices, the games have to be blockbusters and they're not. I would've picked up the new Metroid at 40-50 dollars likely. But not risking a "ok" game at 80 bucks. Reply
WeightAround I still buy og switch games because I won't buy key carts. It has nothing to do with AI or price. I'll buy every complete game Nintendo releases but not a digital key or code in the box. Reply
bigdragon The Switch 2 is facing death by a thousand cuts. I don't doubt that AI-related storage constraints are playing some sort of role. We can also assume that the increase in utility costs because of AI is also consuming money that could have been spent on games. Nintendo's litigious actions and the game key cart debacle are also having an impact. However, the biggest cause of lower-than-expected sales is how overpriced the games are, how few compelling new games are available, and how expensive the console itself is. Personally, I no longer feel the need to have the latest Nintendo console. Palworld, Rivals of Aether, Wild Blue Skies, and countless other games from small developers are good enough alternatives. Hortos Economy is failing and people aren't buying the new Switch 2 because its expensive and fragile. Nintendo not wanting to admit the Switch was a fluke that got bolstered way beyond what its sales should have been because of covid. The Switch 2s crazy sales numbers in the beginning were because they simply didn't make artificial scarcity for once and had enough units at launch for everyone who wanted one. Reply
