(Image credit: Seagate / Future) If you own an Xbox Series X or Series S, then listen up, Seagate's excellent Storage expansion Card has just dropped to its lowest-ever price in the 2TB format, now just $184.76 at Amazon .
As mentioned, that's a new lowest-ever price on this capacity, just 9 cents per GB. That might be more than your average PC SSD, but this is a proprietary plug-and-play drive for current-gen Xbox hardware, meaning it'll slot safely into the back of your console with no cables and no fuss.
Get 2TB of storage for your Xbox Series X or Series X, fully compatible with Quick Resume and just as performant as internal Xbox storage.
The Seagate Storage Expansion Card for Xbox is built using Xbox Velocity Architecture and is officially licensed for use with Xbox. In short, that means that games stored on this drive will work exactly the same way that games stored on your console's main hard drive would. That means you can use Quick Resume, and texture loading, frame rates, load times, and graphics should all be just as performant as the main storage. No more moving games back and forth between your console and your external hard drive.
The drives also come with a three-year limited warranty, giving you peace of mind should something go wrong.
There are, of course, three different sizes of this drive, and all three of them are on offer at Amazon right now. The 1TB version is $121.19 instead of $159.99, and the 4TB version is $379.99 instead of $499.99. The 1TB version is the cheapest but not great value at 12 cents per TB; for just $60 more, you get double the storage. The 4TB version is 9.48 cents per GB (the 2TB is 9.20 cents per GB), so really there's not much in it. However, that drive is drastically more expensive if you're on a budget and has been on sale at this price since November 20. The 2TB version, in my humble opinion, is the best value and is notably a fresh discount as of Cyber Monday Eve, November 30.
