Construction will commence next year, as the pre-planning is seemingly complete. The project is set to open in mid-late 2028, which means we'll just have to wait and see if the Atari Hotel can actually "reimagine hospitality for the modern gaming, pop culture, and sports fan," or if it's just cashing in on the Atari name.
Atari is certainly no stranger to exploring strange avenues these days as the retro giant has tried everything from crypto and NFT s to drink decanters , alongside, you know, actual gaming consoles . So, as much of an everythingburger this hotel may sound, it at least deserves the courtesy of existing, even if it doesn't pan out to be exactly what it is being advertised as.

Notton I am not familiar with Phoenix, AZ city layout, but is there anything to do around the hotel? Is there public transit for easy access to points of interests, or do you have to drive around stuck in traffic to get to anywhere? Heck, even a walk-able shopping mall/district, or a tourist trap within 5min would be enough. Reply
Sluggotg I have been playing video games since Pong first came out. I loved the coin op era of gaming. (I switched to the C64, Amiga and to PC as my primary gaming). If I were going to Phoenix, I would consider it but only if the prices were reasonable. In general, I just want a Clean, Bed Bug Free, room. But it would be fun to stay there, once it is open. Reply
