True but whereas a house's value is based on its location and square footage a chip's value is how efficient it can crunch numbers compared to other chips. A "working" 20 year old Intel Core2 Extreme X6800 can indeed still compute, but no one is going to pay for or take a dual core 2 thread @ 2.93 gigahertz cpu seriously. A house after 20 years may still be a livable house with tons of value … a 20 year old cpu is just a paperweight. Reply

It's all about how much business a company does with A.I. , because that's the hottest thing ever right now, the more it does the more the stock gamblers will pay through the nose to buy up stock, because they buy stock with the knowledge that it will be worth even more at a future date. This is the inflation phase of a potential bubble, some bad news can be enough to scare all the gamblers into selling at any price and we will have plenty of companies collapsing under the sudden loss of valuation. Like you said for a house it's location, if a house is on the site that the railroad will be build through (anything big is going to be build) suddenly it will shoot up in value. Reply
