ohio_buckeye I just wonder if zen 7 will be am5 and the same for zen 8. Especially with the way ram is priced now. Correctly using a Ryzen 5 7500x3d which is a fine cpu, but wouldn’t mind an x3d from the zen 7 or 8 family that could slot into my b850 motherboard. Reply

But zen 8 will most likely be something newer like AM6. Reply

It's likely that Zen 7 will be on AM5, and Zen 8 will be on AM6 (with a possible but unconfirmed transition to DDR6 memory). You could hold out for Zen 7, but Zen 6 should offer some amazing upgrade options if needed. Single-CCD Zen 6 X3D will have up to 12 cores and 144 MiB of L3 cache instead of 96 MiB. Even the non-X3D CPUs will have 48 MiB and should outperform the 7500X3D in gaming. If the non-X3D SKU is clocked high, it may even hold its own against the 9850X3D. Reply
