AMD's new 10th Anniversary Ryzen 7 5800X3D CPU is now in stock — Here's where to buy the revamped processor that's the fastest gaming chip available for AM4 pla

The Ryzen 7 5800X3D 10th Anniversary Edition is functionally similar to its predecessor, delivering top-tier gaming from a DDR4 platform with its eight cores and 16 threads delivering up to 4.5 GHz. Naturally, the massive 96MB L3 is the main attraction, powering excellent gaming performance for this class of chip.

The new 5800X3D was brought back into production to help enthusiasts upgrade DDR4-based platforms during the ongoing shortages of DDR5. We re-reviewed this chip for the launch , using the newest games, drivers, firmwares, and GPU, and while it is functionally similar to the original 5800X3D, AMD did have to make changes to the innovative 3D V-Cache to bring this processor back into production.

Our re-test found that this chip remains the gold standard for AM4 motherboards, squeezing out the most performance possible with DDR4. The $350 asking price is high relative to competing chips if you are building a new system, making other options preferable, but it is hands-down the best upgrade for those on an AM4 system. In fact, one of its greatest attributes is that it will deliver a competitive gaming experience while not breaking the bank to buy insanely-priced DDR5.
