Even without the dock, you can natively connect the ROG Xreal R1 to smartphones and tablets that support DisplayPort over USB-C. And as you might expect from an ROG-branded device, the glasses are fully supported by the ROG Ally handheld gaming PC.
The hardware behind the ROG Xreal R1 definitely sounds impressive, but the $849 asking price may be a tough sell, especially in this economic climate. We expressed skepticism about Asus' AirVision M 1 glasses, which launched at $699, so the even higher price tag of the ROG Xreal R1 will need to deliver on performance and usability to justify its price.

Sluggotg I use reading glasses. Can I even use these? What about VR headset? Do they have basic adjustments that can be made to compensate for old man eyes? They look like fun! Reply
usertests It's only simulating a virtual screen. I would look at the cheaper 120 Hz models which are probably fine. The 1080p resolution may be the more relevant spec, since it would end up being less (900p?) for a screen not covering the entire FOV. Reply
