Findecanor Wow. All that trolling paid off, huh? Musk must be rolling on the floor laughing by now. Reply
Zaranthos SpaceX and even Blue Origin have more advanced rockets than China. SpaceX deployment costs are a fraction of what it costs China to deploy satellites and China isn't currently capable of even coming close to matching the pace or scale of SpaceX. China has massively ambitious plans on paper but currently lacks the ability to execute those goals and even if they could reach that scale it would cost them orders of magnitude more to do it with their current technology. SpaceX has completely changed the game by rapidly deploying thousands of satellites in a short amount of time with plans to far exceed past levels and they actually have the ability to do it at far lower cost. The US has nearly 11 times the satellite footprint in space that China has and far exceeds China in the ability to deploy more at lower cost. China is still racing to catch up with the goal to surpass their competition. Reply

The Russians were saying a similar story about the USA! October 4, 1957: Sputnik 1 July 20, 1969: Apollo 11 Moon Landing Reply
JTWrenn It's wild that we are really so dumb and gr edy that while we are worried AI will kill us all or turn into our overlords that we would we put them out of our reach in space….just to make a buck. At this point we d serve to be taken over Reply

Chinese technical industry has already shown the ability to take out US capability … EV market is Chinas now, smartphone market Chinese makers learned and now are more innovative than Apple for example. And Chinese have been making rockets for a very long time …. The main thing SpaceX can do that others can’t is booster reclaim blue origin has only done it 1x. SpaceX starship is designed with 2nd stage reclaim/reuse in mind and China is the only other place they are even attempting this feat. This will drive the price down considerably to paunch mass to space. Target 2030’s,” by China, note SpaceX hasn’t cracked the code yet either … and while they have a lead in some capabilities China isn’t far behind especially on pure lift mass and rocket power. Reply
