If that happens to be the case(subpar thermal performance) instead of the cooler(s) itself, it's going to reflect on the cooler(s) too. Reply

A case like the CoolerMaster HAF II has such good airflow it can mask poorer coolers performance much like an open test bench. Reply

SkyBill40 The best solution would probably be something dead in the middle, thermals wise. That way you would know if a case has better airflow it'd perform better and vice versa for one that's a hot box. Reply

This reminds me of when Tom's reviewed a dual tower cooler last year or the year before using some tall arse RGB RAM so that the reviewer had to raise the front fan. That told me right there this site wasn't serious about its cooler reviews. I mean if you're going to review cpu coolers the one set of RAM you keep on hand is low profile. Reply

thestryker It looks like they did actually change the heatpipes a bit with both of these coolers. On the AK600 G2 it looks like they changed the plate design as well. While I'm not particularly a fan of the aesthetics it's nice to see real changes rather than just a fan swap and looks. For those in NA Sudokoo is Deepcool sold by another company. I don't believe they have variants of these models yet, but they carry a couple of very similar designs. While I would prefer another case be used this one is fine because as noted in the review they add a NF-A12x25 G2 for intake for air cooler reviews. The reason I'd like to see another case is that this one is incapable of mounting a 420mm AIO. I think the Frame 5000D or Meshify 3 XL would be a much better choice as they're both conventional front to back cases which can have up to 420mm AIOs in the top. As for the complaining about front fan being lifted :rolleyes: Most memory that has RGB or good cooling design will require moving fans up. It's also unlikely that there will be a performance difference on any cooler that has two fans. When I was using a Peerless Assassin 140 on my 265K I tested exactly that because I got some taller memory and was curious. There was zero performance difference between the two fan configurations The only place that might see a disadvantage is in noise depending on what the top of the heatsink is made out of. Ones that have thicker pieces which can obstruct airflow could easily impact noise levels. Overall my point being: so long as it's not something ridiculous like Corsair Dominator heights tend to be raising the fan isn't really an issue when the entire test setup is designed around an actual computer build.
