Kindaian I still find it funny that some games would not play if you had any dev tool installed. Alas, don't need those games then. Reply
GeorgeLY What do Witcher and Cyberpunk games have in common, except obviously being made by the same studio? Both are in top 20 of best-selling games of all time and both *completely* lack any DRM from the day 1 (at least if purchased on GOG web-site). And they play well on Linux with Wine and Proton. Is there a piracy of such games? Yes, but it did not impede them in any way. If publisher treats customers right good things happen. Reply
bigdragon Anti-cheat? No. Anti-get-paid-stuff-for-free is more like it. The current crop of anti-cheat solutions is all about protecting that DLC monetization store. I like seeing the Linux compatibility spread, but I don't like what EAC is protecting given the ridiculous greed of the biggest gaming industry participants. Reply

It's anti-cheat for online games, which is the least awful thing (the most is the cheater itself). Reply
ezst036 With Epic Games bringing Fortnite to Linux, that means: Valve Won. It shows that the amount of gamers on Linux is no longer insignificant. It shows that enough gamers are leaving Windows specifically because of Windows stupidity that the shift is real. Windows is slowly by a thousand cuts dying. Linux is just about there, it is just about the best gaming platform you can get. Only one or a few pieces are left to achieve. Linux is faster. Linux uses less memory. And now Linux is gaining easy cheat vendors. Once it is that Fortnite arrives, that will only increase the Linux numbers because Fortnite is essentially a steel trap right now. People would already be off Windows if they could simply do it because of "the application" is holding them back. They're holding out for in this case Fortnite. It's a self-fulfilling prophecy. https://as2.ftcdn.net/v2/jpg/09/42/80/51/1000_F_942805141_rImGlpi0lrttdYRKdw8YjX5CT6N0gGLD.jpg Reply
