excalibur1814 Let's be realistic… what do we 'want' versus what we 'need'. Yes, I get it, 4k gaming with all the bells switched on is lovely, at 100fps+. What we realistically 'need', is a minimum of 60fps when playing any game. An nVidia 2060 should reach that, within reason, if you turn off x or y. All this madness with £1k+ cards is exactly that, madness. Might as well call it consumer illness. Reply

Neilbob How entitled of consumers to expect Nvidia to provide them more than the shavings of silicon that fall accidentally to the floor! Okay, so that was me being sarcastic (in case there's any doubt), but that is the extent of what they would like to offer those who ultimately lifted them to the position of prominence they now enjoy. I am genuinely wondering when and from where my next GPU might emerge. Right now, financially restricted little me can't see it being at any time in the next three years. In the meantime, Jensen needs to peel a new jacket from the worn tyres of a clapped out old bus. No time for poor plebs like us. Reply

ezst036 Some people don't want to believe the obvious. Nvidia stopped being a gaming company long, long ago. Reply

Depending on your other card, 4K/240fps on ultra is entirely possible. And yes, Nvidia has given up on the the low to mid range gaming GPU market in its entirety. 5060Ti/16GB and 5070Ti are gone. Instead they offer us the 3060 8GB. So our only choices for desktop are… You need video out: Arc A310 Low end gaming: Arc B580, RTX 3060 Mid range: RX 9060XT 16GB and 9070XT High end: RTX 5080 Highest: RTX 5090 Reply

rdmetz All this just reminds me why I don't sweat it when people try to claim buying such high end hardware day 1 like a 5090 is "a bad choice" Not only am I pretty much set for the best gaming you could ask for 2025-2028 (possibly longer) I also got it at its MSRP (Founders) and it basically didn't cost me anything as my previous card 4090 FE sold for $2100 a few weeks earlier and paid for it in full. And I suspect with the way this market is now that the exact same thing will likely easily play out come end of 2027 where these cards are still impossible to get anywhere close to MSRP and I sell it for enough to pay for the day one 6090 probably close to or in full. Waiting doesn't do you any favors these days. Prices are only going up and day one is almost always your best chance with ALL stock from ALL models launched at ALL stores at the same time spreading out buyers and opening up so many opportunities within a very small window. After that stock basically trickles in here and there and disappears essentially instantly while prices just continue to go up. I'm not interested in spending weeks or months of my life constantly trying… Not when I can dedicate just one day and almost guarantee myself I'll walk away with one of the available options. Took 8 hours to land my 5090 on day 1 but then it's nothing but chilling and gaming for 2.5+ years Absolutely worth it! And the top tier cards pricing and demand is so crazy as long as you get one (especially at MSRP) you're almost guaranteed to be able to use it for years and end up selling it for as much as you paid if not a lot more. It's basically a free upgrade cycle that only takes a bit of planning and one day of pretty hardcore attempting to secure but again probably the easiest it will ever be on that day for sure. Reply

vanadiel007 7900 XTX at MSRP. Still going strong, especially when I did my recent 9800X3D and switch to AM5 platform before prices on RAM went crazy. Could not be happier with my setup. Reply

Gururu Going to pure subscription gaming. Writing on the wall. In a few years there won't even be GPUs for sale that can play the games. Reply

-Fran- Jensen: "are there no GeForce gamers in the room?" Shareholders at presentation: *stare in silence* Remember y'all: nVidia is no longer a Company that considers "gamers" their customers. Whatever good faith was left, was lost during this 2026 CES, I'm sure. Regards. Reply

btmedic04 Glad I got my 4090 for $1630 close to launch. Gonna run it till it either melts or prices come back to reality https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/1289763395381493822/1461395314899681393/FB_IMG_1768494142176.jpg?ex=696a65f2&is=69691472&hm=9738eefc30122e1bc4ef31fb3a9b52e34947728319f9d6db1109bb558fbfb5eb& Reply
