Makes me wonder if my parents still have that Mr. Coffee with the faux-wood paneling that they bought in the late 70s? If I were a coffee drinker, I'd snag one. https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQu9j-TYbWtuymcC7t3qbjEQup2zkLLn5MmpFVHZoBdm9oJD_IjGOgMaDQ&s=10 Reply

logainofhades I need to get a new one, but I have used a Keurig, for quite awhile, but it's the $50 simple one from Walmart. I don't want any smart appliance, of any kind. Reply

DS426 On this model, it works over 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, presumably for range and compatibility, which does limit its maximum bandwidth. Most IoT devices still exclusively run on the 2.4 GHz band. Yes, presumably for range and also to keep cost down. The amount of data indicated by the screenshot’s numbers suggests an average upstream of about 9 Mbps, which could swamp an access point . A really old access point? Anyone streaming 4K video to their 4K "smart" TV is using somewhere in the ballpark of 15 – 25 Mbps. YouTube is higher, especially with 60 fps content. That's just a single device, nevermind households with simultaneous internet activity from a couple PC's or Macs, phones, consoles, and so on. Granted, those are heavily skewed toward downstream numbers and many ISP connections are still asynchronous. Reply
