Rarely does VRAM usage on Z1E/Z2E go above 10GB, and the most it'll likely see is 12GB. 32GB is really the most you'll ever need on this platform. After that, the main limitation is memory bandwidth. 8533MT/s is fast, but I'm sure this kind of modification would see more benefits by going 32GB, 10700MT/s vs. 64GB, 8533MT/s. Second point, 64GB RAM will consume more power than 24GB or 32GB. IDK how Z2E handles its power budget, but at the minimum it doesn't help battery life. At worst, the extra RAM is eating into the power budget and further handicapping the APU. Reply

timsSOFTWARE Well, you don't really do a RAM upgrade for performance benefits – usually performance actually takes a slight hit – you do it so you can have more data loaded at once. Because the ROG is running Windows and the games are Windows games, it may allow for playing with higher texture resolution, etc. Reply
