This highly limited introduction of higher memory capacities for existing GPUs follows extended rumors of an RTX 50-series Super refresh for this year that has obviously not come to pass. That refresh would have likely depended on the use of the same 3GB GDDR7 modules that underpin this RTX 5070 12GB laptop GPU. Given that mobile parts tend to be higher-margin than desktop add-in boards, it seems that Nvidia is reserving those relatively more costly 3GB GDDR7 modules for select strategic opportunities rather than forging ahead with an across-the-board refresh. We'll have to see whether those parts find their way alongside more GPUs as the year progresses.

Stesmi Well, that table looks weird. Either it's: GB206 with 128bit bus, 24Gb (3GiB) chips. 4 chips * 3GiB = 12GiB. Memory speed is then 384GB/s GB205 with 192bit bus, 16Gb (2GiB) chips. 6 chips * 2GiB = 12GiB. If it's 24Gbps memory, 576GB/s, or if it's 16Gbps, 384GB/s. or GB205 with 128bit bus (out of 192), 24Gb (3GiB) chips. 4 chips * 3GiB = 12GiB. Same as the first one. It can't be, which the table and text is implying: GB205 with 192bit bus, 24Gb (3GiB) chips. 6 chips * 3GiB = 18GiB. 576GB/s memory speed, or 384GB/s with 16Gbps memory I mean, the last can, but then it's not a 12GiB part anymore, but 18GiB. It's using 4x 3 GB modules, with no changes to bandwidth: https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/news/conan-exiles-enhanced-geforce-game-ready-driver/ In order to maximize memory availability, we are releasing the GeForce RTX 5070 Laptop GPU 12GB configuration with 24Gb G7 memory. This gives our partners access to an additional pool of memory to complement the 16Gb G7 supply that currently ships with most GeForce GPUs. Reply
