China was always going to push away from external engineering and opt for it's own domestic silicon when it's tech and manufacturing capacity was ready. The current administration didn't change that, just forced things to move at an accelerated pace. Reply

China is using Russian tech and improving on it, plus their own in-house things, plus other western things as well. Technology is one of those things close enough to the military that you want to have as much in-house as possible, so while for military applications it makes 100% they would, this goes beyond that. China, if I had to venture an educated guess, saw that and read the message on the wall very clearly and just reacted accordingly. I'm not trying to defend either side here, but just stating what I think is the more plausible reaction to what Jensen said. It doesn't take a friggen genious to understand that phrasin would ruffle feathers over there. Regards. Reply
PEnns "The CCP is facing a dilemma here…." I'd say this administration and NVidia are facing a bigger dilemma here! Administration: "Don't export anything like that to China!!" Nvidia obeys. A few days later: Administration: "It's OK to export them to China!" Nvidia, again, obeys. Now China doesn't want to buy US/ Nvidia's stuff….. Guess who has the bigger dilemma!! Reply
