King_V This is entirely on OpenAI being sloppy. The sandbox machine was supposed to be cut off from the internet. Clearly, it wasn't. Malice, or incompetence at a level that proves they can't be trusted with the responsibility of doing this kind of work and testing. EDIT: wording/clarity Reply

bigdragon Anyone else get the impression that some of these AI companies have no idea what their models are doing, don't fully understand how they work, and are so preoccupied with greed that they don't see/care what collateral damage happens as a result? This seems like a very clear sign that OpenAI needs to slow down and be more thoughtful and careful about what they're doing. 10 days is a long time in the AI world. I bet there's more going on behind the scenes that made OpenAI take the blame — and I say blame because this doesn't read like them taking responsibility instead of being caught and having to fess up.
