The Creality Ender 3 V3 is a great 3D printer for budget creators. It delivers great auto bed leveling, a fast Klipper-based 3D printer that allows the community to add and improve its toolset. Combined with the Co-Print multicolor upgrade kit, you can use up to 4 different strands of plastic simultaneously, removing arguably the only weakness of the platform.
We've already sung the Ender 3 V3's praises in our full review , awarding it with an Editor's Choice badge for just how well-built and speedy it was for the price, while being open-source thanks to its Klipper firmware (with root access). It features a CoreXZ motion system, which allows for smoother layers and slightly higher vertical speed — enabling a staggering maximum speed of 600mm/s and an acceleration rate of 20,000mm/s². It's the fastest bed slinger we've ever tested.
To make sure the body keeps up with that, Creality built the Ender 3 V3 with a fully die-cast aluminum gantry frame, which makes it feel premium and look sleek. It also has a 300° C high-flow hotend with Creality’s tri-metal “Unicorn” nozzle and the same 4.3-inch HD touch screen as the more expensive K1 printer line. The bed-leveling is automatic, and there's a built-in G-sensor for performing input shaping.
The Ender 3 V3 comes mostly pre-assembled, but since you'll get it with the Co-Print multicolor upgrade kit, the process to switch out the stock print head can be a bit hands-on. It's absolutely worth it, though, because once the specialized toolhead is attached, you remove basically the only weakness the Ender 3 V3 had: printing with one color at a time. After upgrading the firmware, you can have up to 4 different filaments running together, like it was a native multi-color machine in the first place.
This upgrade kit costs $250 on its own, so snagging it and the Ender 3 V3 together for just $419 is a great deal, especially when you consider that Creality is not restocking this model for now. Make sure to select the right option on the listing (the second one) and enjoy your new 3D printing powerhouse. Whether you're just starting in the hobby or want an all-encompassing speedster without breaking the bank, this is the right choice.
