With extreme pricing on some of the most important PC components, the ability to get into PC gaming is becoming ever more expensive. The gaming laptop, which, at one time, was a much more expensive alternative to a desktop PC, is now caught up in terms of pricing. This deal at B&H Photo lets you pick up the fantastic Lenovo Legion 5i gaming laptop with RTX 5070 graphics and a 15-inch OLED screen for just $1599 . This laptop has been discounted by $500 from the original $2099 list price. Comparing this laptop to similar spec gaming laptops on sale at various retailers highlights how good this deal is.
The potent Lenovo Legion 5i comes with a 15.1-inch OLED display with a sharp 2560 x 1600 pixel resolution and a fast 165Hz refresh rate. Powering the games and content on this gorgeous display are the 2.7 GHz Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX 24-core processor and Nvidia RTX 5070 GPU with 8GB of GDDR7 VRAM. Other important component specs include 32GB of DDR5 memory, a 1TB M.2 SSD, Gigabit LAN, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.3, Thunderbolt 4, HDMI 2.1, and 2x USB-C ports, plus 3 x USB-A ports.
Lenovo's Legion 5i gaming laptop contains an Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX 24-core processor and Nvidia RTX 5070 GPU with 8GB of GDDR7 VRAM, 32GB of DDR5 memory, and a 1TB M.2 SSD for storage. View your games and media content on the gorgeous 15.1-inch OLED display with a fast 165Hz refresh rate.
We haven't had the opportunity to directly test the Lenovo Legion 5i, so we do not have any specific benchmark data for this model. Do remember that laptop GPUs are not as powerful as full-size desktop graphics cards, and their confusing naming conventions can make them seem to offer the same level of performance; they do not. It's not feasible to fit large cooling solutions into a small laptop chassis, and the power draw of a fully fledged GPU would drain your laptop's battery in minutes.
With 32GB of RAM and an acceptable 1TB of storage, the Legion 5i has room to install a few AAA games and have plenty of memory for browsing and productivity applications. The 8GB of VRAM on the GPU is the main limiter, but with appropriate use of Nvidia's DLSS software, you will be able to eke more performance out of the RTX 5070 mobile GPU in gaming for higher/smoother framerates.
