In fact for those it's likely pollutants would not be detectable more than 2000 feet away. They are really clean. I have been in the Internet business as an engineer handling significant portions of Internet traffic for 20 years. I am pretty sure my experience and qualifications make me an actual expert in this subject. If you don't think Musk is evil you aren't paying attention, and if you think it's ok for big corpo to step in and eminent domain a bunch of people's houses to build a giant noise and light pollution campus in your town that makes your power grid and city water utilities less reliable and employs 40 people grand total at pitiful wages…. Reechard I do not think AI as a technology is evil. I *do* think throwing every resource on the planet at 3,000 competing entities to produce an objectively terrible end result, when a single collective project could use 1/1000 of the resources and be actually good, so that a few thousand billionaires can trade them around like pokemon cards… That I do believe is evil. That's why China's models are kicking our butts with chewing gum and duct tape for hardware. Reply

Not going to call myself an expert by any means but I will say that those turbines are a clean and reliable power source. As far as Musk being evil … show us your sources. Reply

Setnev Looks like Musk took the "ask for forgiveness instead of permission" angle to rolling out those data centers. I cant wait to China's models to beat the crap out of ours. Qwen3.8 is pretty dang close. We dont need this garbage in our country. We're too busy playing catchup from the failure of the last 50 years of administrative mistakes this country has made to make a dent in the AI space long term. China will overtake us in Agentic. China will overtake us with AGI. Why? We have people who refuse to accept forward progress because it requires money and time they have but didn't want to invest years ago that would have laid the groundwork for our progress. China doesnt care about the money or time, they care about progress. Now we're behind again. Reply

If I swap.my ice car for electric and then pake the ice one in a paid parking spot without paying I am making a good decision for the environment, but I am still breaking the law and that should have consequences.
