This 8TB 5,400 RPM drive can store more than its fair share of data. It features 256MB of cache and is one of the fastest hard disk drives (HDDs) available, thanks to a 6GB/s SATA connection. Seagate's Barracuda range of drives is perfect for everyday computing and backup storage.
The 8TB Seagate Barracuda isn't the fastest HDD out there. It's designed to be lower in price rather than offer astonishing performance; however, it's perfectly adequate in most situations as long as you're not looking for breakneck speeds. In our PCMark 10 benchmarking test, we use a wide-ranging set of real-world traces from popular applications and everyday tasks to measure the performance of our tested drives. You can see in our tables below that it isn't the fastest drive, but it does beat out some of the competition.
