There's a $349 Anniversary Edition , too, that comes in white and includes an exclusive all-white Metal Slug game cartridge in the box. You get a wireless Arcade Stick (instead of wired) and its accessories, along with a memory card. The wireless Arcade Stick costs $120 on its own, while a gamepad is also available for $60.
If you're a true baller, then the $1,000 Ultimate Edition might entice you since it includes the gamepad, one wired stick and one wireless stick, along with all ten of the aforementioned games and a rack to display them. Keep in mind that anything you buy will only be delivered after November 12, 2026, which is the official release date of the Neo Geo AES+.

Not to mention, if you're just a retro gaming enthusiast and not necessarily a collector, then just emulating these games on even your phone should be enough of a nostalgia hit. Nonetheless, projects like these ultimately help preserve culture and remind us of a time before the great evil of today (and tomorrow) known as digital licenses. If you buy the AES+, it will never be at risk of going down offline, and you'll own the games forever.

Sluggotg "Fast forward to today, and you can now pre-order the AES+ on Amazon". Amazon stated to take pre-orders in April. I preordered from Amazon on 19 April. Unfortunately, Amazon does not offer the Ultimate edition. The only way to get that is on https://plaionreplai.us/ . The ultimate edition is $1,000. It comes with the console, three controllers and all 10 games. The games are $90 each so the Ultimate edition is cheaper than buying a console and the game separately. Unfortunately Plaion is not taking orders from many States in the USA due to "Tax Issues". For months they have been saying "don't worry, will get the paperwork done soon, and you will be allowed to order the Ultimate Edition from us then". I have read that some states that were previously banned have been allowed to order, but certainly not mine. It should be a great system. I am looking forward to playing some classic NEO GEO games on it. I did want the Ultimate Edition though and at this point they will most likely be long sold out prior to me having a chance to get one. (I won't buy one on Ebay). Reply
jahswii I want to love this. Would love to own the NeoGeo I couldn't have as a youth. But the price point today is as ridiculously bloated as it was in its prime. Im not paying $90 for GTA 6, im certainly not paying $90 for a decades old arcade game. I know people will be willing to fork out these prices… but the way corporations are globally sweeping through our pockets, exploding the cost of living while making record profits, paying 1%ers ridiculous salaries and bonuses, while silently threatening the 99%s earnings with the drive to automation (AI)….. naaa I'll keep the few luxuries I have and refuse to contribute to the delinquency of society.
