Dr3ams I never buy computer hardware from Amazon. Haven't had any issues buying PC accessories from them though. Reply

MKBL I recently returned a RX9070 card without opening it, wondering how Amazon would check its integrity. Once opened, it cannot be sold as a brand new. Without opening and visually inspecting the content, they run the risk of causing this kind of incident. Maybe Amazon return processing needs x-ray machine for those return products above certain price level. Reply
guraldunix Amazon won't sell any returned item as brand new. So, usually the way to get around any scams is make sure the item is both shipped by and sold by Amazon, which is not always easy to tell. Reply

Might as well do a public service announcement then … You want both fields to say Amazon.com https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcThxQh6k-Rs0T4Noa7P5h6TL0icxg5PEbinZys8hrnwtV8LipAgnz-q0W1G&s=10 https://static0.howtogeekimages.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/sold_by_amazon_Result.jpg?q=50&fit=crop&w=650&dpr=1.5 Reply
call101010 Guys , I know some one who works inside Amazon Germany , and If I tell you what the workers AND their supervisors do in there you will never buy from Amazon Europe Again. Which I stopped doing since 2010. Reply
Michael Pun When I returned a 9070xt Walmart I even made sure the shipping box was unopened to legitimize that in returning a new and unopened gpu even further. Reply
NightForce Scams like this have never hit me but when I bought a 9060XT this year, I recorded myself on video opening the box outside my house in the same spot the driver put it. He took his delivery photo. My Ring camera recorded it. Then I recorded myself outside my door opening the box and breaking the seals. It was perfectly fine. But I had the whole thing recorded just in case. Reply
TheBeastFromOz Do Americans not have actual proper computer stores? Here in Australia we have a bunch of them, although some of them have been bought out and screwed up by other companies, but there are still heaps with excellent reps and who would not allow this sort of BS to happen, and if it did they would replace it immediately.
