ezst036 High demand is good news for the future of Linux. 15 years ago if someone would've told me that of all the strengths and weaknesses, Linux would be finding gaming as a Windows' weakness I never would've believed it. But Valve is proving that Microsoft is far from the powerhouse we all used to think of them as. That crazy Gabe Newell, you did it. https://static0.srcdn.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/Jurassic-Park-Jeff-Goldblum.jpg Reply
Kieran Menon Guess I got lucky receiving it off the first wave, got the 2TB with Controller; https://i.ibb.co/d4CNTg9r/IMG-20260720-WA0003.jpg Reply

Wait 15 more years, I'm sure Linux will finally catch up 😂 😂 😂 Reply
-Fran- Mine arrived yesterday and I'm waiting a bit to install it, since I want to show it to the GF as a replacement for the HTPC 😀 Best outrageously bad purchase I've made recently, lel. Regards. Reply

Now, with SteamOS in the picture (the big one, even… See what I did there?) I'm actually hopeful we will se a proper "dent" onto Windows market share and we're one or two generations away from young'uns learning how to deal with the Linux idiosyncrasies from a young age. Talking from personal experience, I've finally transitioned 100% from Windows to Linux and growing up with decent Linux exposure has helped understand how to make the jump across more effective. To your point, though: no distro is ready to fully replace Windows and they never will due to the simple reason there's plenty Software and Hardware makers that just have no interest in supporting Linux in any capacity (*cough cough* Mediatek Trash *cough cough*), so any Linux (or FreeBSD) migration immediately has bumps. My migration from Windows to CachyOS has not been pain free, but holy cow it's been amazing how much better the overall experience is… After finding and squashing all the friggen gremlins xD All the software I care about runs fine, most of the time better. Games included… Well, the ones I play. Regards. Reply
