One of the earliest TinyGPU v3 demos featured a chameleon to pay tribute to the Nvidia GeForce 3 , reputed to be the first programmable shader GPU for consumers. That milestone was achieved in a PC graphics card that launched a quarter of a century ago (Feb 2001).

The latest information about TinyGPU v3 mentions that the finished ASIC should be delivered in December 2026 or January 2027.

Eximo No desktop purpose sure, but you can probably find a use case for a really tiny GPU in some IOT or toy. Might be cheaper than licensing a mobile SoC in the end. Reply

rluker5 A Bay Trail Atom igpu from 2014 with 32 shaders, 4 TMUs and 1 ROP is enough to play HL2 at 1080p and 2w sdp (including the CPU). Probably has millions of transistors though. Reply
