AFAIK apple (as bad as they are as a company) don't have kill switches on their devices (so long as device owner doesnt report it stolen or changing a part to trigger the device part issues). So they do actually give you ownership of your device…within the limits of the walled garden (physical limitation) Reply

I've used it a couple of times for some tech purchases, and it works out OK. Certainly not too exorbitant. It has an APR of about 13%. I recently used it for a tech purchase to the amount of €481 euro. The total amount paid back was approx €516, so a €35 difference. For me this is acceptable. This will work for some folk. Reply
