According to their post on the PC Master Race subreddit thread, u/klcp20 stumbled on one of the last display units at Costco during their weekly groceries run. While display units are generally sold at a discount to free up showroom space, buyers should keep in mind that such systems may have been on display for months and could be missing some accessories.
As per the shared spec sheet, the iBuyPower prebuilt PC includes an AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D, which is rated as one of the best gaming CPUs that you can purchase today. Other components include 32GB of DDR5 memory, a 2TB SSD, and an Nvidia RTX 5070 graphics card with 12GB of VRAM.
The system also comes with an AIO liquid cooler, a keyboard and mouse combo, and a copy of Windows 11 , making it a well-rounded gaming PC for modern AAA games at 1440p and even some 4K gaming with the right settings. The buyer also notes that they plan to swap the included power supply, suggesting they aren't entirely confident in its quality.
Such deals don't come around often, but this also isn't the first time a display PC has been sold at a massive discount. Just a few months ago, another Costco shopper reportedly picked up what seems to be the exact same iBuyPower prebuilt gaming PC for $1,000, down from its original retail price of $1,899.99.
It is important to note that such discounts are largely dependent on individual stores and their inventory. We highly suggest keeping an eye on display units and limited-period discounts, especially at big-box retailers. If you're already making a trip for groceries, it might be worth taking a quick detour through the electronics section.
