TechieTwo Good ole Bernie… He doesn't know the U.S. is based on capitalism not on socialism. Reply
Geef Lets make a new bill. The bill gives 50% public ownership of Bernie Sander's money and gives it out. ;)👍 Reply

hotaru251 He says that it’s impossible for a single person to bargain with a company for better wages, but with workers working together, this is where the idea of collective bargaining came from. except when majority of your nation is poor(this is cost of living poor not the joke that is the official poverty line) they can be bought out by the rich and "buy" their votes as the people who are poor have a much needier desire for instant income. The wealth creation of capitalism and the industrial development that comes with it lays the foundation for socialism . Reply

Just a very weird thing. AI and natural resources both fall into categories that make sense for some form of socialized ownership. Without it they cause massive damage to the population. So many wars started over energy that didn't benefit the people. Can it be socialized? I doubt we will ever see it to the degree bernie says in the USA, but it will be interesting to see how countries that are more socialist in Europe go for it and if it works out. Considering how much governments invest through subsidize in companies anyway we could just become owners instead ans pread out the wealth since the rich have decided to fight taxation and sharing so much…I think we need to push back. They won't do it on their own. Reply
Zaranthos If you want a stake in AI invest your own money. I don't pay my taxes to give you a stake in any company. Plus if AI is the bubble many claim why should my tax dollars go to inflate the bubble? Government needs to stop wasting the money they take from us until they can manage to stop wasting what they already take. Public schools = Terrible performance record despite more money spent than most countries. Social security = Nearly bankrupt because the trust fund originally set up was spent by government. Public roads and bridges = We constantly hear how much disrepair there is despite gas tax money funding that. Since the gas tax was established to fun this 30 other bills passed with additional funding for roads and bridges. Fire departments = Much the same. Started out funded by the private sector, then local governments, and now 100's of millions per year in federal funding along with all kinds of other legislation that throws money at it. It's common for many of these public sector jobs to pay out 6 figure incomes to administration, better benefits than most private sector jobs at least in rural or smaller communities, and have very little free market competition to apply market pressure for them to provide quality or good results. Not saying I'm necessarily against these things, just saying I don't think adding more to the list with my tax money appeals to me either considering the governments track record. Spend more time fixing the stuff you already oversee before asking me to fund more things. Reply
