alrighty_then Lots of money and hype behind the game so it's possible the courts allow the leaker to be pinpointed. That guy better be in Russia or somewhere he cannot be easily nabbed. GTA was fun when it first came out, but nowadays open-world games where you can wreck havoc for short term fun are a dime-a-dozen. Playing the game to complete all the missions feels like a job. txfeinbergs Yeah, this guy is going to wish he never kicked the hornets nest. They have unlimited funds to go after this guy and no doubt will. Reply

PEnns Too bad this guy isn't a big, fat corporation. Otherwise, he could use the "Freedom of Speech" defence gimmick. It worked brilliantly with those companies. Reply
ezst036 No OS should have this ability. I despise pirating, if something is a thing you need – pay for it or else embrace open source. That said, doxxing is a greater threat than pirating. Pirating generally only creates economic problems, doxxing has gotten people killed. No OS should have this ability. Absolute power corrupts absolutely. Reply
thestryker Not that I ever expect the best from a company but hopefully Microsoft laughs at the subpoena. Handing over that type of data in what amounts to as a fishing expedition would set an awful precedent. Honestly I find it funny that this leak happened after the draconian measures they took after the one some years back. They managed to let a full build of the most hyped game of all time walk out the door and can't identify the who. Reply
TerryLaze thestryker said: fishing expedition Rockstar wants info on everybody that had any digital "goings on" with three specific accounts on three specific servers, I don't think that constitutes fishing, they know who the leaker is and they know were they operated so it's pretty targeted they just need to connect it all to physical persons. Reading comprehension appears to have eluded you because they want literally everyone associated with the three discord servers period: Attachment A asks Microsoft to return that identifier for every account that was a member of, or communicated with any of the three listed Discord servers between June 1, 2026 and the present, in addition to the three handles named in the filings.
