None of that happened with my (also a handful of) Samsung SDXC cards. So I can vouch for Samsung in reliability for SDXC, but I'd never tried Sandisk/Kioxia SSD, always use Samsung's. Reply

I had the perception that SD/microSD cards fail more often than SSDs. At the very least, they could be kept in worse conditions, like powered off for a long time, or in hot vehicles. Think I've had one failure but there are many I haven't checked. Reply

I've had zero SSD failures in actively used systems, whether or not they were new drives, and I've had SD and USB failures from pretty much every brand I've used. Reply
