Lenovo joins retro gaming handheld race with new G02 system for $63 — handheld for sale on AliExpress, listed on Lenovo's official China site

The Lenovo G02 is $63.56 on AliExpress before any discounts or promotions. For comparison, the Anbernic RG40XXV, a close competitor both in looks and functionality, sells for $86.99 on Amazon . If you’re seeking an even better deal, Alibaba offers the Lenovo G02 for as low as $40 per unit. Alibaba caters to B2B customers, though the seller requires a minimum order of 40 units. Therefore, the $80 price tag on AliExpress could be introductory or a result of fluctuation. Keeping an eye out for AliExpress coupons or flash deals could bring prices down to a more attractive level.

usertests This category has been dominated by smaller names and the RK3326 + 1 GB combo can be found under $40 AFAIK. More powerful chips capable of PSP, N64, PS2 could be found around $80-100. So it could be a tough sell, especially if they are rebranding some cheaper unit. h3EdhoI-HCI Reply

Scott_Tx Yeah, they're a bit late to the game with a higher price and less features. The only plus is they're a well known quality brand. Mostly. If the price was closer to what I can get already I might be tempted but its not. Reply

But it's going to be closer to the $100+ range for reliable PS2 and GameCube emulation, like some of the handhelds in the end section of that video. For example, at 21:47, Retro Game Corps goes over the $80-90 AYANEO Pocket Air Mini with a Helio G90T, which he says is capable of N64, Dreamcast, and PSP, "and even a little bit of GameCube and PS2", meaning the easier to run games. He says the $100 Mangmi Air X with Snapdragon 662 "will allow you to play up through PSP, no problem, and you can play a little bit of PS2 and GameCube as well, as long as you're willing to make some concessions in terms of speed and maybe a couple emulation hacks to get these games running". So that is your starting point, but you may have to look for something more expensive with a faster chip to get the job done right. Ask around. Reply
