TechieTwo TP-Link has a history of router issues, especially security issues. I dumped mine for that reason. Reply

bill001g This is a big who cares. First this is not actually the first wifi8 router. Wifi8 has not been finalized/certified. This device is likely based on what they call "draft2". The router manufacture is gambling that nothing major changes between now and mid 2027 when it is predicted the wifi8 will be official. They have been lucky the last few wifi releases but 802.11n draft was a major screw up when the draft devices did not properly work with the final standard. It will likely be early 2028 before you can easily get wifi8 end devices like phones. End device makers tend to wait until the standard is final and then you have the time to actually make the devices. We might see a couple phones or nic cards that also play the "draft" game but it won't be many and they will be massively over priced until competition arrives. Wifi8 if it actually does what they say it will do will be great. Unfortunately to get most the interesting features all devices must be replaced with wifi8. Going to be expensive and how many people will replace their tv just to get wifi8. Reply
