ezst036 Nobody truly ever owns an Apple device. Those garden walls are a bit too high – you may have paid for a copy of the hardware but that M1/M* device on your desk is always APPLE 's computer. They still make all the rules. Reply
usertests Klarna financing is an obvious tax on the poor. So probably not a good idea to touch this with a ten foot pole. Reply

AFAIK apple (as bad as they are as a company) don't have kill switches on their devices (so long as device owner doesnt report it stolen or changing a part to trigger the device part issues). So they do actually give you ownership of your device…within the limits of the walled garden (physical limitation) Reply

USAFRet Can't tell if this is good or bad until we see the actual pricing. But any rent to own thing like this is rarely beneficial to the consumer. Reply
Roland Of Gilead I don't think it should be dismissed entirely. This sounds like something we have in the UK and Ireland. Their service is called 'humm'. Essentially it's a buy now, pay later model. I've used it a couple of times for some tech purchases, and it works out OK. Certainly not too exorbitant. It has an APR of about 13%. I recently used it for a tech purchase to the amount of €481 euro. The total amount paid back was approx €516, so a €35 difference. For me this is acceptable. This will work for some folk. Reply

I know someone who bought a laptop with Klarna and it was interest free if paid off in four payments (at purchase, then a payment every two weeks). She paid it off by then so it worked out well. If you pay off a reasonable amount every month it is viable. It is the people who pay the minimums that will get hosed. Reply

This is payday loan territory dressed up with a fancy corporate name. Reply
