GTA 6 could come to PC as early as Q1 2027, leak claims

GTA 6's development hasn't been an easy one. The game itself is thought to be in the hands of "Cyberleek," someone who has already shared clips of the game and has threatened to leak the entire game if their demands are not met. Those demands include their memecoin reaching a $30 million valuation, perhaps hinting at their true motivation.

bigdragon The game has changed. Long exclusivity windows are a huge liability in today's world. This news doesn't surprise me one bit. Rockstar wants the cash from that locked-down console release. They'll have made most of their franchise-enthusiast and hype money by the time the end of the year gets here. I bet that Rockstar wanted to wait much longer than Q1 2027 to release a PC version. However, all the recent console jailbreaking and AI decompilation activity means that they'd be absolutely stupid to wait much past the holidays to release a PC version. The longer they wait, the more opportunity AI has to create a variant of GTA 6 that doesn't come with all the publisher baggage (Denuvo, online social crap, etc.). The risk of more actors like Cyberleek getting ahold of a playable build or releasing it also rises with time. The sooner GTA 6 releases on PC, the sooner Rockstar can make money and prevent someone else from doing so with their game. Reply

TheyStoppedit Decompilation projects have already started for PS5 games. Emulators will soon be a thing of the past, and all games past and present will eventually be decompiled. As soon as GTA 6 launches, the decompilation process will begin right away. Modding/hacking communities are already doing the prep work. I give it a month, tops Reply

While it's a pretty awesome game today, No Man's Sky had a historically bad release. They announced a new game about 2.5 years ago called Light No Fire. Since then, nada, nothing, no promised features, no promised dates, almost nothing except an occasional admission that it's still in production. Reply
