Chumbakarumba Curious why the article says AM5 but the linked kits recommend Intel 700. Reply

Because people who write articles and product lostings don't actually know anything about computers. CPU Socket type has nothing to do with ram… if your motherboard supports ddr5 ram, and your cpu is compatible with your motherboard. You can use any ddr5 RAM. The nuance you, or the writer, May be getting confused on. Motherboards with socket types older than AM5 or intel 700 don't support ddr4. Your ram doesn't care whether it's intel or AMD, for what socket type you actually have. It just cares if the motherboard is compatible. Reply

You may have misspoke when you said motherboards older than AM5 don't support ddr4. I can't tell with all the nuance. Reply

I can't tell with all the nuance. MB don't care if is expo or xmp. They are just timings and for the most part work on either. In the case of this trash 6000 48 kit the timings for it are so loose that no CPU will have an issue with it. DDR5 is the only requirement here for both the mb and CPU. Doubt the article/advertisement here on Tom's bothered to mention why 6000 is preferred max on an AMD system but they should. This is just a universal ddr5 kit that is still overpriced by x2 or more but at least it's NOT Corsair so you won't be supporting a price fixing and price gouging company if you choose to purchase it. daworstplaya No thanks, I'll just wait until RAM prices drop back down to sane levels. All PC enthusiasts should boycott this type of predatory pricing. Reply

emike09 Glad prices are dropping. But still a terrible deal. I paid less than that for top-tier 2x32GB DDR5 6000 CL28 Hynix A-die 10 months ago. Reply

Key considerations
